The Art Appreciation Group

Our broad plan is to alternate monthly visits with talks or study sessions. Normally we are aiming for our meetings to be, where possible, on the fourth Wednesday of the month to enable members to have helpful, up to date information from the monthly newsletter. However we have to be flexible to fit in with locations, transport availability and gallery events.

Change of venue
Next meeting on Wednesday, 25th January, 2.30 at the Community Transport room (Peak Gateway are refurbishing their rooms). “Illuminations! – an illustrated talk about medieval manuscripts.” All are welcome – any details from Anne B. (324435)

We will be meeting on Wednesday 22nd, February at the PEAK CARAVAN PARK at 2.30, and will be returning to the lecture series on the Impressionists, with a look at the work of Renoir. n.b. Shrovetide so no need to go into town!

I’m hoping to organise a day visit to London on Wednesday 7th March to the Royal Academy for the Hockney exhibition, leaving Derby at 11.0 and returning on the 8.25 train from London, group price £36, plus group entry fee. Would you be interested? Any U3A members interested please contact Anne for more information and to sign up.

New group members welcome as long as they belong to U3A.

If any member has any suggestions for individual visits, please do let us know; input from individual members is vital to the group's success. Ideas and suggestions are very welcome.

Queries, comments or suggestions or further information contact Anne Butterworth on 324435 or Mary Mitchison on 324068.
